OK, so your resume did the trick – it grabbed the company’s attention and was selected as one that they’d like to pursue - the company found your background intriguing, and they have expressed the desire to interview you. Don’t get too excited yet. In all likelihood they are planning to interview between 4 and 8 other candidates as well. Of those, approximately 3 to 5 will be called for a second interview. Sometimes the top candidates will be called for subsequent interviews. The company will generally hire the candidate who best promotes the value that he/she will provide to the hiring manager.
